With grant funding from The Hartford Insurance and Move United, Adaptive Expeditions has a new fleet of kayaks, wave ski, standup paddleboards and all the adaptive equipment necessary to help everyone who can safely be in the water paddle with greater comfort, safety, and performance.

The Hartford Athlete and two-time Paralympian, Para-Pan American Medalist, and 2022 Wimbledon Doubles Champion, Dana Mathewson, will join The Hartford to surprise a local youth or young adult adaptive athlete with custom-fit adaptive sports equipment.

After the equipment reveal and surprise gifting moment, people with all types of disabilities, families and friends, will be invited to paddle the new adaptive paddlesports equipment in the lake at James Island County Park.  ACA trained adaptive paddling instructors will be available to help everyone have a great experience.
