Through removal of social, architectural and programming obstacles & barriers, Adaptive Expeditions works to improve the quality of life for people with physical and / or sensory disabilities.
Adaptive Expeditions utilizes the following advocacy techniques and strageties:
Direct advocacy:
- Initiate and support legislative proposals
- Advocate before planning boards, commissions, public hearings and other public forums
- Provide written comments during administrative rulemaking processes
- Seek legal remedy only after political and administrative processes have been exhausted
Indirect advocacy:
- Identify and bring public awareness to key issues through media campaigns
- Coordinate and support other organizations' grassroots campaigns
