Rafts, sea kayaks, sails, cycles, and canoes carry us into remote wild places. Our expeditions range in duration from single overnights to 14 nights. Most involve primitive camping. Locations are selected that provide naturally occurring reasonable access, but all of these adventures will involve improvising accessibility.
Planning for most expeditions starts more than one year in advance. Please contact us to suggest a future expedition.

August 2016 Southwestern Rafting Expedition
Adaptive Expeditions’ Joe Moore has teamed up with Marcel Beig to offer 10 individuals an opportunity to earn the ACA Rafting Instructor Certification as well as the ACA Adaptive Paddling Instructor Endorsement during a 7-night expedition through Southwest desert canyons.
This education-focused rafting expedition will include 10 ACA Instructor & Endorsement Candidates and 5 individuals with physical disabilities. Most days will include several hours of outdoor classroom time. The entire expedition will include opportunities to directly apply newly learned skills. Accessibility will be improvised and the ability to self-transfer into and out of a raft and tent with some assistance from others will be an additional Essential Eligibility Criteria for this expedition. Reasonable and safe mobility assistance will be an integral part of this expedition.
We expect costs to be somewhere between $1400 to $1600 for Instructor Candidates and $400 to $600 for participants with physical disabilities who are not also Instructor Candidates. Cost will not include transportation and lodging prior to the start nor after completion of the expedition. Enrollment fee will include all permits, educational materials, equipment, food and transportation during the expedition.
This page will be updated with more details as permits are issued.
Please contact us to let us know you are interested in enrolling. We will then (after permits have been issued and details are firm) give you an opportunity to register before the expedition opens to public enrollment.
